Project title: Wigging It Out.
Project type: illustrations, NFTs.
Theme: fashion accessories inspired by the world of pop
art.
Year: 2023.
Concept: from ancient Egypt to modern times, wigs have played an
important role
in fashion, culture, and self-expression for both men and women. A series of 8 wigs, inspired by the
vibrant
and diverse world of pop art, celebrates diversity and encourages self-expression. Each wig is a
bold statement,
a miniature work of art reflecting the rich tapestry of global cultures and ethnicities, showcasing
creativity and individuality
Challenge: in illustrating this 'Pop Art Wigs' concept was maintaining
the vibrancy and cultural sensitivity
of the design. Accurately representing the diverse range of ethnicities and textures required
meticulous
attention to detail. Capturing the bold, playful spirit of pop art while ensuring respectful and
authentic
portrayals of different cultures proved to be a delicate balancing act, demanding a high level of
skill and
precision.
Models: First row from left to right (Xandra, Ghislaine, Grace, and
Cécile).
Second row from left to right (Weiyu, Ella, Rob, and Brook).
